Every site you go to seems to tell you that betting their way is the best. I recently came across a site that insisted that correct score forecasting was the most accurate soccer predictions method. I think it must have been written by some comedian for a laugh.
Their theory was that if you got 4 right in an accumulator, you would win around €17,850 for a €10 stake. But lets have a look at the probability of that happening. The most popular, and most frequent score line is 1-1, this is why most bookmakers will only offer you 6.50 on it. The true price should be 8.50. So basically we are saying that the chances of a 1-1 scoreline is 11% now to get four 1-1 selections the probability is calculated as 0.11 x 0.11 x 0.11 x 0.11 = 0.0001 or 0.01% or it may happen once in 10000 bets!
On their advice you would outlay €10 every Saturday for the next 192 years and then when the big win came you would still be losing €87,000. Yes, I can see why they want you to join all those betting firms through their link!
The other thing they said was the 1×2 betting was studied so carefully by the bookmakers that it was impossible to make any money, but that they left lots of loopholes in the correct score betting. that really had me in hysterics – I never laughed so hard in my life!
Look the bookmakers DO have an army of researchers out there covering almost every angle. But at the end of the day, it is the punters that decide prices. If a football team is offered at 1.50 and someone backs it with €10,000 you can bet its price is going to change, and that the odds of the draw and away will rise.
So to make a profit in any type of betting what you need is an angle, some information that is not readily available to the public.
